I am looking to help someone- passing on an act of kindness that was once given to me. I don't have much but maybe I can give someone worthy a hand up.
Life is looking better!!!! I am still struggling monetarily but I am maintaining a happy and positive outlook. My sick days are fewer since I escaped the abuse and my doctor is so happy that she actually thanked the people that I live with now. I have two fabulous room mates and though I may not be able to move to CA as I wish to, the DFS here has offered to assist me in my custody battle so I may get my kids yet. I am still on waiting lists for housing, but I am pretty sure I will have something within four months. I am making crafts to sell on ebay for a trip to visit my kids in CA and am hoping to be able to do that very soon. I could do without the MS, Meniere's disease etc....but I refuse to let it beat me. I am going to win!!!! Thanks to all who listened to me when I was down and helped to pick me up by my boot straps, I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then new pic is me, I did them out of my wheelchair though I will likely do a few in it as well. Just figured I would show off the real me!!!!!!!!!!!!

in response to whoknew...I did file charges and have left messages with the crime victims, but have yet to hear a call back. I also called the domestic violence organization and due to my illnesses they aren't comfortable or as they say "equipped" to deal with someone as ill as I. I am about to go to a meeting with community action to see if they can provide more and my tribe is faxing them an intake to try to get me some more assistance through them, but being out of their state makes it difficult. I am on many many wait lists for assistance. The lists are long, most a year or more, but I received some new links thanks to Scmidty and will be contacting them as well. I hate having to ask for assistance on top of the degradation that these diseases cause. He wasn't arrested due to the fact that I was stupid and only called the police the next day so I am also dealing with the D.A. who I know from being a paralegal. Casper Wyoming just doesn't have much and from what I have been told they turned down some federal funding that would have helped.

I have to ask - did you file charges and have him arrested? If you did, you might be able to get some assistance from crime victims. Also check with the domestic violence organizations in your area - they may be able to help.
in response to LadyValhalla...Who told you that. You don't close request here on Aidpage. There are a number of people who are in the same boat as you, I am for one. There is also a number of people who would be willing to help in their way. Some willl only be able to lend an ear but at times that's all that is needed.
in response to Schmidty...thanks, I will check them out. I will likely close this request though as I have been told I am a horrid person for making it. I have never asked for help like this before and now will never do so again. I will check it out though, thanks.
in response to LadyValhalla...Welcome to Aidpage. I have a number of postings on my hompage that you might be interested in. If they aren't enough or you need different assistance , don't hesitate to ask.
I am very unaccustomed to being the one to ask for assistance. I have done volunteer work for the military and other organizations like red cross my entire life. I am used to being the person that people go to for assistance and this is very difficult for me to ask for assistance. I included my email for contact and if you would like to speak with me before providing assistance I would be happy to give you my number. I am proud and independent and hate asking for help, but was recommended to do so by the agencies that can no longer assist me. Thanks in advance for any help I receive.

in response to Starshine...Thanks Star, I appreciate your advice but all I need is a foster home for the cats till I can pay for my weekly. God Bless
Orion
in response to orionsrogue...You are welcome. About your pets sweetie, you need to find them a home via craigslist.org or another free classified. To let them out in the snow I don't think is a great idea. I let a cat go her name was Angel. She was 8 years old and my ex said he found a home for her. She was white, indoor declawed in the front paw cat. Her home was outside and two great dane dogs killed her. So I have more quilt about that as the people whose home she was to stay in had my number at my new place when my ex and I split and they had my work number. But they never called and I thought she was indoors with them.
Please find your pets a home and even a foster home till you can be back with them.
I know it is hard but you have to think about the dogs well being and yours as they have given you love and companionship over the years and look to you to protect them even if that means finding a new home for them.
I know you will find the strength to face what is hard to do.
God bless
Starshine
in response to Starshine...Thanks Starshine, for getting back to me, just reaching out far I know, I'm just scared of losing my babies. If I have to get them out and live in the snow so we're not separated I'll do just that. I'm not willing to let them go, sounds stupid I know but have lost too much.God Bless
Orion
in response to orionsrogue...Hello
I remember you. In my homepage are shelters that are no kill for your pets and I know how we feel about them. Another option is to take them to Pet Co. for their adoption fairs. I would see Inspritation page here and example of letters she wrote or try writing CEO's of airlines and bus companies to see if they can help.
Take care and hopefully someone else can offer advice.
Hope you get the help.
I understand how you must feel
Wishing you better times
God Bless
Starshine
